Beat the Beast - Adult Snow Day

Turns out the weather man was right after all...

After making it halfway to work yesterday to be told to turn back due to the oncoming snow, I stupidly thought it wouldn't come to anything, but waking up to THIS was somewhat of a shock!

Our road has completely disappeared under a blanket of fluffy white snow.
Our cars are buried to the bonnets, keeking out from beneath their marshmallow toppings.
And I swear we had garden furniture yesterday...

Panic mode in Scotland and the whole of the UK is officially ON!
There's twitter rumours about low supplies of bread and milk, the councils have called closure of all schools and local businesses have shut up shop.
Our Country has fallen.
May the odds be ever in your favour.

I do love the snow, but in small doses. I believe I am made for warmer climates but living in Scotland at the moment proves that type of weather rather rare.
So as half the Country are indeed "snowed in", here's a list of  8 adult-friendly snow day activities to try this week to #beatthebeast...

1) BUILD A SNOWMAN!!!!!
Or, a snow throne, like the Ice Queen I am... then watch it crumble beneath you attempting to sit on it.

2) BAKE BAKE BAKE
If you have the supplies, why not bake a cake or cook up a storm, like the one outside?

3) NETFLIX AND CHILL... literally
Beat the outside chill with an indoor one.
Pick a program to binge watch or catch up on the one you've been meaning to get back to.
An activity I hope I never tire of...

4) SNOW SPA DAY
I'm talking face mask, bubble bath, at-home-mani/pedi's with your spotify "chill" playlist and a trashy novel or magazine.

5) TREAT YOSELF
Okay, so this one may badly affect your bank balance when a snow day should probably stop you spending money, but come on! Missguided and Asos have just dropped special snow day discount codes. They know what they're doing ;)
Besides, you need to look HOT when the weather changes.

6) WORK UP A SWEAT
I felt rather guilty come late afternoon for netflixing and working my way through an entire packet of jaffa cakes, so I decided to work out a bit by doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred DVD. 20 mins and guilt free... Kinda...

7) GAME CHANGER
Dust off the Monopoly and Articulate!
We even whipped out some of the quiz games we received at Christmas as stocking fillers and it got really competitive, but much fun!

8) DRINK
Are you even Scottish if you don't use the snow day as an excuse to get onit?
My Prosecco and my brothers Peroni bottles have been chilling out the back all day- WIN!

So there you have it. A fun-filled snow day extravaganza.
I've already been told tomorrow's work day has been cancelled too, so I think I'm gonna catch up on my writing and dun duun DUUUUUN- - head out into this "Beast from the East" for food supplies, seeing as I worked my way through the cupboards today. I've heard it's like the hunger games in Tesco, but we might as well see what we can get our hands on.
So, God speed, blogger.

Pray for Stace...

Stace x
